Digital Data 2024: Synthesizing & Harmonizing Data for Integrated Biodiversity Research

iDigBio, the Natural Science Collections Alliance (NSCA), and The University of Kansas’s Biodiversity Research Institute have announced the Digital Technologies in Biodiversity Research 2024 Conference which will take place May 29-31. The theme of the next Conference in 2024: “Synthesis and Harmonizing Data for Integrated Biodiversity Research”. This conference will provide an important opportunity to explore digital data tools, techniques, discoveries, and outcomes across the biodiversity sciences. Both in-person participation in the conference and virtual participation via «Zoom» are available.

Topics of plenary sessions.

    • Using digital data for conservation stewardship and management,
    • Facilitating ecological discovery and understanding,
    • The impact of digital data on systematic, phylogenetic, and genomic research,
    • Advances in AI and machine learning in the study of biodiversity,
    • Digital extended specimens as paradigms for data integration,
    • Implementing the use of digital data in basic biodiversity research,
    • Innovative imaging techniques for enhancing specimen-based discoveries.
    • Cultural, Ethical, Legal and Social Issues for biodiversity data.
