       Ecological and evolutionary consequences of plant–fungal invasions

45th New Phytologist symposium, 26-29 June 2024

UNICAMP, University of Campinas, Brazil

The 45th New Phytologist symposium is dedicated to research into “linked” plant and fungal invasions, which will take place from 26 – to 29 June 2024 at the University of Campinas, Brazil.

Some studies show that the co-introduction of plants and fungi introduces entirely new changes in the characteristics and functioning of ecosystems. At the same time, relatively little is known about broad biogeographical patterns, ecological and evolutionary dynamics, and the ecosystem and biogeochemical consequences of such introductions.

Борок-5_2017          «Alien Species in the Holarctic»

5th International Symposium on Biological Invasions, (Borok -V, 2017 )

Uglich, Yaroslavl Province, Russia, 25-30 September 2017

The main goals of the 5th International Symposium are:

    1. Consolidation of efforts to study the processes of how alien plant and animal species spread in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems;
    1. Exchange of information on the vectors, causes, scales, and directions of species spread; changes in their properties in new aquatic and terrestrial habitats;
    1. Assessment of the role of the alien species in the transformation of endemic communities; evaluation of social and economic consequences of biological invasions as well as development of risk assessment approaches;
  1. Discussion of issues related to terminology, theory of species spread and study methods.
