The Institute Earthwatch has announced the acceptance of applications for research.

Earthwatch Institute*, after a three-year COVID-induced hiatus from developing new projects, invites to submit pre-proposals from scientists for field-based research that address key conservation and sustainability issues in the following areas:

  • – Biodiversity Conservation
  • – Marine Conservation
  • – Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK)

In all of these areas, Institute is prioritizing research that will take measurable actions in addressing threats to terrestrial and marine biodiversity, ecosystem integrity, functionality and resiliency.  Earthwatch is also prioritizing engaging Indigenous leaders and scientists in braiding Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) with Western scientific process and our model of participatory science to effectively mitigate and adapt to the threats associated with our rapidly changing climate.
